This is topic very near and dear to my heart and actually is one of the main contributing factors that led me to start incorporating essential oils into my life. My dad, who is and always has been a hero to me, has been battling a rare form of lymphoma cancer for 8 years now. He grew up on a farm and the only thing doctors have ever been able to say as to where the cancer originated from is due to repeated pesticide exposure. I don’t think anyone ever really knows 100% where cancer comes from so the best thing we can do for ourselves is to lead a healthy lifestyle, the rest is in God’s hands.

Below is a recent article on the connection between pesticides and cancer that I think everyone should all read and share with others.
4 main points:
1. The Link Between Pesticides and Cancer
2. Do Pesticides Increase Cancer Risk for Farmers?
3. What Cancer Risk do Pesticides Pose to the General Population?
4. How to Protect Your Family from Cancer-Causing Pesticides.
Chemical substances can be found everywhere in the world around us on a daily basis. From the air we breathe, to the water we drink, the food we eat, and the products we use in our house. A few ways to minimize your exposure in food is to either choose organic products and/or properly wash your fruits and vegetables at home. Buying organic can definitely be expensive so I follow the clean 15, dirty 12 list when I go shopping. The clean 15 are safe to buy non-organic whereas the dirty 12 should be purchased organic if possible.

When it comes to washing my produce at home I use Young Living’s veggie spray and soak.
The major danger of pesticide use is the amount of chemical residue in and on our food. Pesticides are believed to play a significant role in the incidence of cancer.
